Métodos de avaliação da força muscular em idosos diagnosticados com COVID-19: uma revisão integrativa

Resumo

Este estudo teve como objetivo analisar as evidências disponíveis na literatura científica sobre os métodos utilizados para avaliar a força muscular de idosos acometidos com COVID-19 que participaram de reabilitação durante a internação ou após a alta hospitalar. Foi utilizado como método de pesquisa a revisão integrativa, pois esse tipo de revisão permite a sistematização de estudos com metodologias diversas (experimental e não experimental). Foram encontrados quatro métodos diferentes para avaliar a força muscular de idosos com COVID-19: força de preensão manual, escala MRC, agachamento estático e teste de 1RM. Nossos achados apontam que a escolha dos métodos deve ser pautada na análise crítica do profissional de saúde, observando o estado de saúde do paciente e a proposta de intervenção. Os métodos devem ser aplicados de maneira padronizada para sua correta classificação com base nos valores de referência e/ou monitoramento da evolução do paciente ao longo da intervenção com exercícios físicos
