Introduction: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) poses significant challenges to child development, affecting, among other areas, children's motor skills. Objective: This literature review aims to consolidate and empirically analyze the benefits of physiotherapy for motor development in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), providing valuable insights for healthcare professionals, educators, and families. Methodology: The research was conducted through a literature review in recognized databases such as PubMed, Lilacs, and SciELO, over the last five years, from 2019 to 2024. Inclusion criteria were applied to select relevant studies specifically addressing the benefits of physiotherapy in the motor development of children with ASD. Results and Discussion: The compilation of eight studies provided a substantial analysis of the benefits of physiotherapy in the motor development of children with ASD. Longitudinal studies demonstrated significant improvements in children's motor coordination after specific physiotherapy interventions. Similar results were observed in studies showing significant advances in the mobility and flexibility of children with ASD. Conclusion: These findings reinforce the importance of physiotherapy as an effective intervention to promote motor development in children with ASD. A multidisciplinary approach, incorporating physiotherapists, is essential to provide substantial improvements in the quality of life of these children.
