Nurse’s Role in Humanized Childbirth

Abstract

Pregnancy is a very important period in a woman's life, in which many physical and emotional changes occur, and prenatal care becomes essential during this period for women, as it is where the pregnant woman gets answers to her doubts, has support in relation to fears, anguish, fantasies or the simple interest of knowing what is happening to your body. Objective: is to describe the importance of nurses in humanized childbirth. Methodology: The methodology used in this study is an integrative review of the literature with a descriptive approach, with content analysis as its primary characteristic, which synthesized and grouped the results obtained in important research on the topic outlined in previous articles. Result: The gestation period generally lasts about 9 months from conception, being a time when the organism undergoes significant transformations to welcome and nourish the fetus. However, it is essential to promote respect and the individuality of each pregnant woman, considering that the protagonist is the mother and the unborn baby. In this sense, the nursing team plays a fundamental role in offering humanized care throughout the process of adaptation and evolution during pregnancy. Conclusion: Therefore, based on the articles found, humanized birth can be described as one in which there is intervention, but with the woman as the protagonist, respecting the particularity and time of each one. But also that, being born changes a family, a new routine, challenges, tears, smiles and without a doubt the experience lived during childbirth will immensely influence the way this mother will face the new phase of her life.
