Abstract

Introduction: AGA consists of a chronic inflammation that affects hair follicles and manifests when any of the phases of the hair development cycle is altered. The pathology is not painful, however, it can trigger physical problems resulting from the loss of eyelashes and eyelashes, as well as skin irritations. Objectives: to present the available treatments for androgenetic alopecia. Methodology: this is a bibliographic, descriptive, integrative review study of articles published between 2019 and 2024, in the MEDLINE, LILACS, SCIELO and BVS databases, published in Portuguese and English. The titles, abstracts and full text that answered the objective and guiding question were read, and their results were discussed and presented in tables. Results: it was evident that there is still no single and definitive treatment for AGA, however, the available treatments have demonstrated high satisfaction rates with regard to treatments for AGA. Conclusion: The study highlights the different treatments available for AGA and the importance of a good patient assessment so that the best treatment can be administered according to the needs of each patient.
