Municipal education system in the Amazon region

In recent years, there has been an experience of moments of intense study and reorganization of national education, which establish fundamental goals for the development of teaching grounded in the aspirations of all of us. Among its objectives is the formation of individuals capable of assuming a critical and creative stance, through which they can positively impact the family, the community, and every form of interaction in which they take part. It is known that the educational project is not separate from the project of the nation we desire. We fight for a democratic education because we want to consolidate democracy in our municipality. It is also evident that the school is the only means capable of informing, educating, and transforming a nation; offering it with quality to all means seeking the guarantee of human rights and the consolidation of autonomy with democracy. This document consists of criteria related to organization and operation that mainly concern the concrete practices of an education system. One of its objectives is to demonstrate the characteristics of municipal education systems as a means to be used to effectively establish educational democracy. This work is part of an examination of educational actions and policies developed within municipalities, focusing on the importance of creating the Municipal Education System and the repercussions of this decision on the role of the Municipal Council of Education. The discussion analyzes the structuring of the municipal system based on the texts of the laws that establish them.
