The objective of the article is to conceptually characterize the flourishing construct, through the rescue of historical influences in Positive Psychology, differentiation between the initial constructs of authentic well-being and happiness, the evolution to FLOURISHING and its differentiations. Flourishing is a construct described through five elements: positive emotions, engagement / flow, sense / meaning, relationships and fulfillment. It has aspects of subjective well-being and psychological well-being. It is defined as an optimal personal state, achieved and sustained by the individual's strengths, can be stimulated / favored by the context and has positive consequences in various dimensions of life (achievements, health).
