The nurse's view on the correlation of the intensive care unit and the spread of covid-19: a literary review

The Intensive Care Unit has state-of-the-art technology, where patients who need high-complexity care are directed, the nurse should become an ally in the use of this technology, the patient affected by Covid-19, in an advanced stage, will need care intensive; Objective: To analyze nurses' views on the correlation between the Intensive Care Unit and the spread of Covid-19; Methods: this is an integrative literature review, elaborated with articles from the Latin American Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences, Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online, and Scientific Electronic Library Online databases; Results: nine articles published between 2019 and 2021 were selected. These presented the role of nurses in the Intensive Care Unit in the context of the pandemic, challenges facing the spread of Covid-19 and the socio-educational measures aimed at them. Conclusion: when it comes to the spread of Covid-19, the nurse plays an important role in the Intensive Care Unit highlighting the numerous challenges in professional and problematic practice that contribute to psychological damage in the work environment, requiring resoluteness in the midst of the problems presented and more publications on the subject.
