Acute lymphocytic leukemia is a disease characterized by excessive and progressive proliferation of leukocytes in immature forms, being the most common type in childhood. The disease in its acute phase can be characterized by some oral manifestations. The objective of this study was to present the main oral manifestations that occur in pediatric patients affected by acute lymphocytic leukemia and the treatment, adding to this, we define the importance of dental management combined with a multidisciplinary team, in the face of this situation avoiding the aggravation, in addition to providing health and comfort to the patient. Material and Methods: The literary review method was used, that is, we summarized the information in an impartial and complete way, placing an overview and general and current view of several authors on the subject. Literature Review: The most common oral alterations associated with acute lymphocytic leukemia are mucositis, candidiasis, xerostomia, dysphagia, dysgeusia, hypogeusia, radiation caries and labial herpes. Such oral manifestations do not result only from the disease itself, but also as a result of treatment, which may consist of surgery, radiotherapy or chemotherapy. Discussion and Conclusions: The intervention of the dentist reduces the risks of associated complications and although the dentist is not responsible for the treatment of the disease itself, it is essential in the diagnosis and treatment of oral symptoms, considering that the therapy itself, in addition to the disease, leads to opportunistic oral manifestations due to immunosuppression.
