Mental health of nursing professionals in Brazil in the context of pandemic Covid-19

Introduction: This work discusses the mental health of nursing professionals in Brazil, in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, in order to highlight the main psychological consequences in this category. The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic resulted in several problems, which contributed to the triggering of several mental health problems. Objective: To address the main problems caused to nurses' mental health in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic and preventive measures in this context. Methodology: Refers to a narrative review, of an exploratory and qualitative nature. Results: It was observed that the problems of: stress, depression, anxiety and exhaustion were the most mentioned and resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic by nursing professionals. The resources of digital platforms made up of psychologists and psychiatrists for managing stress and other psychological pathologies, with efficient feedback, combined with healthy habits and daily physical activities contribute to the mental health of nurses. Conclusion: the Covid-19 pandemic directly impacted the mental health of nurses and other health professionals, considering the psychological problems triggered by being on the front line in the fight against the virus, as well as because it is a pathology with high level of infection and risk to life.
