Role of physiotherapy in reduce skin sagging

Skin sagging is a common condition that affects skin elasticity and firmness, especially in individuals who have experienced significant weight loss or aging. With the advancement of physiotherapeutic techniques, several approaches have been developed to combat this condition. The objective of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of the main physiotherapeutic techniques in the treatment of skin sagging, highlighting the most used methods and the results observed. The methodology adopted was a literature review, using databases such as PubMed, Scielo and Google Scholar. Articles published between 2005 and 2024 that addressed physiotherapeutic interventions to reduce skin sagging were selected. The results indicated that the most effective techniques include radiofrequency, electrostimulation and the use of specific therapeutic massages. It is concluded that, although different techniques present promising results, the combination of treatments can enhance the improvement of skin elasticity, being necessary to customize the approaches according to the individual needs of each patient.
