This article provides a conceptual framework that allows mapping important areas between Artificial Intelligence and potential dangers to contemporary democracy, especially with regard to the electoral game, governability, governance and accountability. The objective is to analyze the impacts on the democratic regime of the use of AI to generate Deepfakes and Deepnudes as an instrument of disinformation on social networks. The methodology applied is supported by the deductive method, using qualitative techno-exploratory research, of a bibliographic-documentary nature. As for the results, it was concluded that, with the advent of Restricted Artificial Intelligence (RAI), a system of machines with human-level cognition and the ability to set goals autonomously, there is an urgent need to advance the analysis of potential dangers to contemporary democracy. This implies focusing not only on the analysis of the technology itself, but also considering its insertion into economic, political and social structures that mediate its effects for better or worse. This makes the analysis of the impact of AI on democracy an important area of future interdisciplinary work.
