This project investigates the growing concern regarding excessive screen time among children, considering the negative impacts on health and child development. Although technology offers benefits for learning, excessive use can cause significant harm. The research emphasizes the importance of effective strategies to promote healthy habits in children and their families, addressing improvements in the school environment and pedagogical practices that develop socio-emotional and cognitive skills. The central issue is: how does excessive screen time impact children's cognitive and social development, as well as their physical health, and what methods can be adopted to mitigate these effects? Conducted over four months at the Luz do Saber Kindergarten in Buriticupu-MA, the research utilized literature review, semi-structured questionnaires, and a logbook with 47 preschool students. The children demonstrated being well-informed about the impacts of using electronic devices, recognizing the importance of balancing screen time with play and social interactions. The results indicate that it is essential to promote dialogues about responsible technology use among children, parents, and educators, aiming for healthy development. It concludes that the educational intervention conducted had a significant impact on raising children's awareness about excessive screen time and its consequences. Through lectures and distributed informational materials, it was possible not only to convey information but also to engage children in a dialogue about healthy practices.
