Calcifying Odontogenic Cyst. Radiolucent lesion with radiopaque spots. Defined limits. Root resorption. Enucleation.Abstract
Calcifying Odontogenic Cyst (COC) is a considerably rare lesion that occurs more in a range of 30 to 40 years of life, which occurs without predisposition to sex or arches according to numerous articles and also described by Neville, however the anterior region is the most common place. Almost always patients do not report pain or discomfort and do not appear on extra-oral physical examination. Calcifying Odontogenic Cyst does not have many characteristics in intra and extra-oral examinations, therefore in radiographic examination, which is often the discovery of the lesion, it presents characteristics such as: radiolucent lesion with radiopaque points, unilocular, with defined limits, corticalized margins and may have root resorption. The cyst if treated correctly, that is, surgical enucleation, its chance of recessive is minimal. The work aims to report a case of a patient in which the characteristics of Gorlin's Cyst, so also known, are exactly as described in articles and scientific studies.
