The use of artificial intelligence in the Brazilian Judiciary as a tool for public management: a case study of the Victor tool from the Supreme Federal Court

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the Brazilian Judiciary has gained prominence as an innovative solution to enhance the efficiency and quality of public services provided. This article aims to analyze the use of AI in the Brazilian legal system, with a focus on the Victor tool, developed by the Supreme Federal Court (STF), designed to optimize the management of judicial processes, especially those related to general repercussion. The research adopts a qualitative approach and presents a case study of the tool to understand its impact on procedural speed and task distribution among staff. The study found that the tool has the potential to significantly improve process management, reducing the staff's workload and allowing them to focus on more complex tasks. However, the use of AI also raises ethical and transparency concerns, which need to be carefully addressed to ensure that the technology is used fairly and impartially. This study contributes to the discussion of the benefits and challenges of using AI in the Brazilian Judiciary, highlighting the potential for expansion into other areas of the Brazilian judicial system.
