Abstract

The work under analysis is part of the “Educators Collection” published in November 2010 by the Ministry of Education (MEC), in partnership with Unesco and the Joaquim Nabuco Foundation, during the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the creation of this Education portfolio. Written by Gregorio Weinberg (1919-2006) renowned Argentine writer, historian and educator who dedicated himself to research and teaching in the field of culture, the history of ideas and education; honorary professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature at the University of Buenos Aires, where he studied the history of education in Argentina and Latin America; member of the National Academy of Education and of the International Commission established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) to prepare a new edition of the History of the scientific and cultural development of humanity; director and researcher of the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research, director of Livraria Nacional.
