Abstract

Introduction: In Psychology, the investigation of pathologies is much more frequent than the study of the positive aspects of human nature. However, Positive Psychology emphasizes aspects associated with optimal functioning, highlighting concepts like well-being and optimism. This perspective is present in various fields, including education. Objective: To conduct a literature review on the promotion of well-being and academic performance through Positive Psychology. Methodology: This is a qualitative and descriptive literature review conducted using the SciELO, PsycINFO, and CAPES Journals databases. The review considered studies from 2000 to 2025. Results: After applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, 10 articles were selected. Conclusion: Positive Psychology holds significant potential in the school context, where it is evident that well-being and academic performance are closely related. Both can be promoted by interventions that incorporate self-compassion, empathy, and other factors. Furthermore, a scarcity of studies on this topic was noted, which highlights the need for more scientific research in the field.
